Mark Glover is a central Texas native general surgeon with minimally invasive advanced training. He received his bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Texas Tech University and continued his medical doctorate at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas. He completed general surgery residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis.
After residency, Dr. Glover pursued a minimally invasive fellowship in San Antonio with Texas Endosurgery Institute. There he learned advanced laparoscopic surgery techniques. He remained at Texas Endosurgery for the following year where he continued to teach advanced laparoscopy to surgical fellows.
Dr. Glover’s primary area of focus is to the field of hernia repair and anti reflux surgery. He is a member of the Americas Hernia Society. He was the first surgeon in Austin to participate in the Americas Hernia Society Quality Collaborative AHSQC, tracking hernia outcomes. He was the first in Austin to perform robotic eTEP and the first to use botox to aid in closure of massive hernias. He employs open, laparoscopic and robotic techniques in his repairs as well as experience in non-mesh, tissue repairs. He is well versed in revisional hiatal hernias, mesh removals, and component separations.
